The Gollarín publishing house publishes the works awarded in the "Mandarines School" prize of the literary contest "Albacara" (20/09/2019)

The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Gollarín publishing house have presented the book that compiles the winning works of the 'Mandarines School Award' of the 'Albacara' Literary Contest.

The event, held at the House of Culture, was attended by the mayor, José Francisco García;

the director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Region of Murcia, Juan Antonio Lorca;

the prior of the Barefoot Carmelites, Father Pascual Gil, the editor Francisco Marín and the professor and winner of the last edition of the National Narrative Prize 'Ciudad de la Cruz', José Fuentes.

The presentation also brought together the young people awarded in the previous edition of the renewed 'Albacara' contest, which were presented with a copy of the publication.

The contest 'Albacara' has a youth line with about forty years of experience, which since last year is called 'Mandarin School', in tribute to the work of the distinguished caravaqueño writer Miguel Espinosa and which students who can attend Secondary, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training centers in the Region of Murcia.

The young winners, whose works are included in the Gollarín publication, are: Lucía Rodríguez, Carlota Roca, Jesús Gutiérrez, María Marín, Isabel Puerta, Marta Castrejón, Francisco López, Pedro Vilches, Javier Navarro-Soto and José Blas Salcedo.

The contest is organized by the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, in collaboration with the Discalced Carmelite Fathers of Caravaca, and sponsored by the publishing house 'Gollarín' and the Grupo Desserts Reina.

In its latest edition, it was composed of the 'Mandarines School Prize', the 'Ciudad de la Cruz Narrative Prize' and the 'San Juan de la Cruz Mystic Poetry Prize'.

The last two modalities now acquire international character, as long as the works are potty and written in Spanish.

The deadline for submission of works to the present call of the contest is open until Thursday, October 31 and these must be sent to the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez', located in Plaza del Templete s / n of Caravaca de la Cruz.

The awards ceremony will take place on December 14, coinciding with the festival of San Juan de la Cruz, patron of the poets.
