The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has started a campaign to improve the horizontal signage of the municipality.
In the coming weeks, taking advantage of the holiday period and the lower traffic density, zebra crossings and horizontal signs of the main arteries of the urban area and districts will be repainted.
"The General Directorate of Traffic warned of the poor state of the signaling of the municipality, which represented a danger to road safety and, in addition, seriously jeopardized the continuity of conducting driving tests in our city," as informed the councilor responsible for the areas of Citizen Security and Traffic, José Santiago Villa, who thanked the effort being made by the traffic maintenance brigade to carry out this task with the least incidence in the neighbors.
"Improving this aspect has been one of the priorities of the municipal government establishing, in these first days, a calendar of planned actions," added the councilor responsible for Works, José Antonio Sánchez.
The Department of Public Safety and Works promote this campaign with the firm objective of improving the maintenance of roads, thus ensuring the safety of road traffic and pedestrians.
In addition, the General Directorate of Roads has already confirmed to the Caravaqueño Consistory its actions in those vials that compete, such as Carretera de Murcia, Carretera de Granada and Avenida de Los Andenes Gregorio Sánchez Romero.
This will be reinforced by municipal actions.
To this end, a study of the current situation has been carried out establishing a degree of priority, which will allow addressing the problem in a planned manner.
