The Town Hall of Caravaca is joined tomorrow by the commemoration of the 'World Day of Autism' (01/04/2019)

The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Social Services and in collaboration with the associations 'Teayuda' and 'Ingloba Tea', adds to the celebration of 'World Autism Day'.

The event will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2, at 8:30 p.m., in the Plaza del Arco, and during the same will proceed to read the manifesto and the facade of the Consistory will light blue, along with a representation of the students of the Municipal School of Theater.

The General Assembly of the United Nations in 2007 established this day to highlight the need to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

In this sense, each year, the associative movement of autism in Spain, in coordination with Autism Europe, launches an awareness campaign to promote a real and positive image of people with ASD, which helps to make visible their reality and needs, as well as his talent and abilities.

This 2019, the chosen theme is "I 8 autism, a new dynamic for autism", with the main objective of promoting positive changes in various areas of the lives of people with ASD.

In the framework of the 'World Day of Awareness about Autism', the associative movement promotes the blue lighting of buildings and monuments throughout Spain, as a sign of support for people with ASD.

It adheres to the worldwide initiative of Autism Speaks known as 'Light It Up Blue'.

Last year, there were 300 buildings and monuments that joined this initiative throughout the national territory;

among them, for example, the Congress of Deputies and the Reina Sofía National Art Museum, in Madrid;

the Sagrada Familia and the MACBA, in Barcelona;

the Aqueduct of Segovia;

the Hanging Houses of Cuenca;

the Tower of Hercules, in A Coruña, or the Millennium Dome, in Valladolid.

This year, the challenge is to reach 350 buildings illuminated in blue during the evening of April 2 to 3.
