The extension of the CAVI schedule allows to improve the prevention and attention to the victims of gender violence (05/02/2019)

The Local Table of Gender Violence in Caravaca analyzes the statistics of the municipality and plans new actions in terms of awareness

The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has convened the Local Roundtable against Gender Violence, which meets every six months to the different agents involved, to analyze the actions carried out by the Center for Attention to Women Victims of Violence (CAVI) and plan activities of awareness and social awareness.

"The extension of working hours of the team of professionals responsible for the operation of the CAVI has allowed to strengthen the information services and customer service and plan a greater number of actions in prevention," as highlighted by the Councilor for Social Services, María José Soria, who has presided over the table together with the Coordinator of Gender Violence of the Government Delegation, Luisa Barreda.

Soria recalled that the expansion of services of the CAVI, launched in December last year, has been possible thanks to funding and skills reserved to local entities within the State Pact of Gender Violence.

In the Local Table against Gender Violence are represented the Security Forces and bodies, educational centers, health care services, the Employment and Training Service (SEF), the Commonwealth of Social Services of the Northwest and the technicians of the municipal departments of Education and Youth

The CAVI of Caravaca de la Cruz, which serves the municipalities of the Northwest Region, last year attended a total of 80 new users, compared to 88 who received psychological, social and legal attention in 2017. Since launched this public and free service in 2006, 1,063 women have been served.

In 2018, from the CAVI of Caravaca, 33 cases were referred to the Psychological Attention Service to Minors (SAPMEX).

The opening hours of the CAVI of Caravaca are from 08:00 to 15:00, from Monday to Friday.

On Mondays it also stays open from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m.

The service is located in the Training, Equality and Employment Center, on Diego Cortés Street, next to the El Cejo garden.

The telephones for previous appointment are 968 72 22 22 and the 901 that derives to the central one of the Network of CAVIS Region of Murcia.
