The giant that threatens the earth 'is the title of the conference that the scientific disseminator and professor of Physics and Chemistry Cayetano Gutiérrez Pérez offers in Caravaca de la Cruz this Thursday, February 7, at 8:00 pm, in the auditorium of the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez'.

The talk is framed in the program of the conference 'An education for the 21st century.

Looks from the sciences and the arts', with the collaboration of the Department of Education of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz.

Cayetano Gutiérrez will address some aspects of his book "Climate change, the giant that threatens the Earth", whose purpose is to raise awareness of the most important environmental problem on the planet, as a result of maintaining an unsustainable lifestyle and consumption habits.

The aim is to sensitize attendees to the existence of measures that allow curbing climate change.

Acting accordingly, in all areas of daily life, from home to work, and from leisure to culture, will be some of the topics that will be discussed in this talk.

Cayetano Gutiérrez Pérez is a professor of Physics and Chemistry and a scientific disseminator.

He has published 'Physiquotidianía, the physics of everyday life' (Academy of Sciences of the Region of Murcia, 2007), 'The action against climate change' (University of Murcia, 2009) and 'Climate change, the giant that threatens the Earth '(2018).

He is a member of the Spanish Association of Scientific Communication.

The last of the three activities programmed in Caravaca de la Cruz within the framework of the conference 'An education for the 21st century.

Looks from the sciences and the arts' will be the colloquium 'The story they do not tell us', by the Collective Social History of Cieza (Thursday February 14, at 20.00, at the House of Culture' Emilio Sáez ') .

The fifth edition of the conference 'An education for the 21st century.

Looks from the sciences and the arts' consists of more than 120 activities, which are held in 17 municipalities, which present current problems and various issues on the educational field.

Among the objectives, is to give value to public education and encourage debate about the changes necessary for the contents taught in the classroom to meet the true needs of students.
