Dance, theater, music and body language have been present in the third edition of the 'Festivarte', in which more than 350 people from mental health associations from different municipalities of the Region of Murcia have participated.
This activity, organized with the slogan "A look at art from the heart", has been promoted by the Asociación Afemnor del Noroeste, with the collaboration of the City of Caravaca, the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) and the Murcian Health Service .
During the opening of the festival, the council of Social Services, María José Soria, thanked the presence of the thirteen mental health associations from municipalities such as Murcia, Lorca, Molina, Aguilas or Librilla, to which other areas have added of disability, such as Apcom or Intedis, as well as the association prevention, rehabilitation and reintegration of people with addictions 'Betania'.
In this sense, Soria has expressed "the satisfaction of the City of Caravaca for collaborating with Afemnor in the organization of 'Festivarte', it is already an activity that makes visible the mental health and the work that the associations carry out with the users and their relatives, and which also contributes to social inclusion through art ".
The Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness of the Northwest (Afemnor) was created more than ten years ago as an initiative of family members, people with mental illness and professionals sensitized with the need to improve and promote the creation of socio-health resources that favor the complete integration of the person with mental illness in their social environment.
The association aims to promote the integral recovery and improvement of the assistance and quality of life of patients, as well as provide the necessary support to relatives and relatives.
For this, they have different programs underway such as the Family School.
