Caravaca City Council implements electronic administration to streamline internal management and facilitate procedures for the citizen (30/10/2018)

The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has implemented electronic administration in order to provide citizens with access and processing of public procedures and services.

This formula of administrative action supposes a modernization and improvement in the functioning of the local administration, optimizing resources and streamlining processes, in addition to other associated benefits such as the significant saving of time, paper and space.

The e-Administration affects the internal procedures, but also the citizens, who are prevented from traveling to the City Council to be able to carry out requests, writings and communications electronically, such as the presentation of general instances, electronic bulletin board consultation , access to the electronic notification / communication system, presentation of complaints or suggestions, invoice accounting record (SEFACE), etcetera.

The platform can be accessed through https://caravaca.sedipualba.es or through the link installed on the municipal web portal www.caravaca.org.

With the electronic administration, the Caravaqueño Consistory adapts to the provisions of the laws of Common Administrative Procedure of the Public Administrations and of the Legal Regime of the Public Sector.

Its implementation implies a significant change in administrative processes, in inter-administrative relations, in the development of public services and, in general, in the relationship between the Administration and citizens.

For the implementation of the electronic administration, the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council has exported the 'Sedipualb @' model, an electronic administration platform (SaaS), developed by the Diputación de Albacete and converted into a model of inter-administrative collaboration in the provision of services for municipalities whose size ranges from 100 to 200,000 inhabitants.

In this way, the public sector responds to the demands of a new technical-economic model in which information technologies and communication networks (ICT) have been located as the nerve center of economic, social and cultural activities.

Electronic administration is defined as the use of ICT in public administrations, combined with organizational changes and new skills, in order to improve public services and democratic processes and strengthen support for public policies.

In the last months, and after the approval in Plenary of the Regulation Regulation of the Electronic Administration and the creation of the headquarters and electronic registry, the municipal personnel has received formation with the assistance to days and talks that have allowed them to know the operation of the new tools with which it is intended to improve the attention to the neighbors and comply with the regulations that require public administrations to apply these electronic procedures.
