The Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz celebrates next Saturday, November 3, the third edition of the outdoor painting contest 'Rafael Tejeo', which will bring together new painters, amateurs and professionals in a day of dedicated coexistence to painting, inspired by themes and landscapes of the municipality.
With this event, the Caravaqueño Consistory remembers and pays tribute to the famous Caravaque artist Rafael Tejeo, Isabel II's chamber painter, considered one of the great portrait painters of the first half of the 19th century.
The style and technique are free and the theme should be related to natural landscapes, everyday scenes and urban settings of Caravaca de la Cruz.
The Department of Culture has increased in this edition the number of awards.
In the children's category, from 6 to 15 years old, there will be a first prize of 200 euros and a second prize of 100, exchangeable for school supplies.
In the adult category, from 16 years old, a first prize of 1,000 euros, a second prize of 500 and a second prize of the jury of 250 will be awarded.
Artists of any kind may attend, with only one original work.
The inscriptions are made until 9.30 am on the same Saturday, November 3, at the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez' or via email areacultura@caravacadelacruz.es.
From the moment the rules governing this contest were published, the inscriptions are being formalized in both the Informajoven and the Municipal Library, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The jury will be made up of people related to the world of painting and art and representatives of the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council.
The prizes will be delivered on the same day, November 3, at 7:30 p.m., in the auditorium of the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez'.
