Apcom launches the second edition of its fundraising campaign with the slogan 'We want to reach the goal' (22/10/2018)

With the slogan 'We want to reach the goal', the Association of Families with Intellectual Disability of the Northwest (Apcom) has launched a new fundraising campaign designed and directed by a group of its own users.

The objective they want to highlight is that "the group of people with disabilities also aspires to achieve their goals, thanks to the previous campaign, they have achieved many of them: have a job, relate better and be more independent, but they still have a way to go. tour ", as highlighted by the president of Apcom, Antonio Castillo, during the presentation of this campaign, an act that has been wrapped by the councilors of Social Services of Caravaca, María José Soria;

Calasparra, Antonio Merino, and Bullas, Chari Martínez.

The councilors have congratulated Apcom for this new initiative which promotes the social inclusion of people with disabilities and have encouraged all residents of the Northwest Region to collaborate with it.

The campaign has begun with the presentation of the new image and the distribution of balloons and bracelets among citizens.

From now on, six Apcom users will be the protagonists of the second edition of the fundraising campaign in order to retain and attract new members.

The good results obtained with the first edition of fundraising campaign, celebrated with the slogan of 'We have to talk', allowed the hiring of six people with disabilities.

In addition to generating employment, it helped to break down prejudices that are still present in society regarding the limits that these people can have in order to lead a normalized life and enter the labor market.

The Apcom association was created in the mid-eighties, in order to promote services that provide continuity to the training of people with intellectual disabilities in the vacuum that existed after the school stage.

It began to function as an occupational center, to later incorporate new centers and services, both public and private.

Apcom works to complete all the possible services needed by people with intellectual disabilities, offering them support during their life cycle.

The association belongs to Plena Inclusión (formerly FEAPS), the movement of the majority intellectual disability in Spain.
