"We want to reach the goal", new Apcom fundraising campaign (19/10/2018)

The Association of Families with Intellectual Disabilities of the Northwest, Apcom, launches a new fundraising campaign created by its own protagonists.

Under the slogan 'We want to reach the goal', Apcom starts a new fundraising campaign.

Six members of this group have been working on the creation of this new campaign in order to build loyalty and attract new members.

The objective they want to highlight is that they, too, aspire to achieve their goals.

Thanks to the previous campaign they have achieved many of them: have a job, relate better and be more independent.

But there are still many goals to be achieved.

The campaign starts with its presentation on Monday, October 22 at 12:15 pm at the Plaza 'Paco Pim' of Caravaca with the participation of the Councilor for Social Services María José Soria, the president of the Apcom Association and the protagonists themselves.

The activity organized by the collectors of Apcom will consist in distributing balloons to all the people who want to participate, in order that the campaign has more visibility and repercussion in the whole Region.

This is one of the various activities that will be organized for the campaign 'We want to reach the goal', an action that anticipates the importance of what they want to tell us.

The campaign is completed with a spot and posters in which, they want to thank the people who have collaborated to achieve many of their goals.

'Thanks to you', well, they have wanted to emphasize it.

'Because the biggest limit to our goals is not the lack of capacity but the lack of opportunities'.

And they, the Apcom collectors, go out to the street to prove it to us.

APCOM is an Association of families of people with intellectual disabilities.

It began to operate in the mid-eighties, in order to promote services that would provide continuity to the training of people with intellectual disabilities in the vacuum that existed after the school stage.

It began to function as an occupational center, to later incorporate new centers and services.

Currently, the APCOM Association owns two Day Centers (Occupational Day Center "Mayrena" and Day and Residence Center "El Copo"), a Center for Child Development, Early Care and Educational Support "Avanza", a Housing Service: Residence "Nova" and Sheltered Housing;

and a Special Employment Center "Ecojardín".

Serving a total of more than 200 people and their respective families.

The Association APCO.M.

belongs to Plena Inclusión, which is the Federation of Organizations in favor of Persons with Intellectual Disability and Cerebral Palsy of the Region of Murcia.
