The historical recreation 'The best years of my life.

Footprint of Teresa of Jesus in Beas de Segura and Caravaca de la Cruz 'will be held this Saturday, October 6, at 8.15 pm, in the Calle Mayor and in the church of San José of the former Carmelite Convent of Caravaca.

The staging will be borne by the Cultural Association 'Desatino', which with a very careful assembly, involving a score of actors and actresses, will move the viewer to the sixteenth century, when the most universal saint of all time, Teresa of Jesus, creates her first house of Discalced Carmelites of Andalusia, the Monastery of San José del Salvador in Beas de Segura.

The Cultural Association 'Desatino', which was born at the end of 2015, is not a simple theater company, since it carries out different tasks around the recovery of cultural heritage with unpublished works that try to bring the public to outstanding chapters of the history.

In his short career he has already made successful representations of classics such as 'La Casa de Bernarda Alba', in addition to unpublished titles whose scripts have been prepared by its president and director, José Miguel Fernández Cuadros: 'El Transito de Santa Teresa de Jesús', 'Velada con Quevedo' or his star work: 'The best days of my life', historical recreation that is now done in Caravaca and that is represented annually in Beas de Segura since 2016.

In the convent of Beas de Segura, Saint Teresa of Jesus knows who would mark the rest of his life, Friar Jerónimo Gracián de la Madre de Dios (commonly known as Father Gracián) and together they laid the foundations for the consolidation and great expansion of the Reformed order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

From the Convent of Beas, Teresa of Jesus will have the intention of founding in Caravaca and with Gracián will agree how it is to be founded in this city.

The story between Teresa de Jesús and Gracián has enchanted writers of the stature of Fernando Delgado, who captured it in one of his books, winning the Azorín Prize for novels in 2015.
