The initiative 'Do not give up' to find employment for young people with disabilities travels to Caravaca (10/09/2018)

During Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the initiative 'Do not give up never', launched by the ONCE Foundation through its entity for training and employment 'Insert', will be in Caravaca de la Cruz, within his tour through 78 Spanish locations.

The mayor, José Moreno;

the ONCE Responsible Game area director, Pedro Salinas, and the regional director of 'Inserta Empleo', Delia Torralba, visited the itinerant information office, located on Los Andenes Avenue, where orientation interviews are conducted labor, motivation workshops and tutorials for the creation of a professional itinerary.

The mayor has expressed his gratitude for having this service in Caravaca de la Cruz and "be one of the four cities in the Region of Murcia to which the initiative 'No te rindas nunca' has been moved, a project that aims to main to help young people with disabilities to channel their talents and improve their chances of entering the labor market. "

The 'Never give up never' roadshow is presented with the slogan 'This opportunity does not pass every day' to train and inform 5,000 unemployed young Spaniards between 16 and 29 years old, with a disability equal to or greater than 33%, and improve so job opportunities.

The people who are part of the roadshow 'Do not ever give up' will be able to participate in four types of workshops: 'The attitude that drives me' (motivational), 'Unique and diverse talents' (analysis of the talents of the candidate and their professional positioning) , 'The power of a vision' (to create a professional route for five years) and 'Start the adventure' (to write the curriculum in a way that awakens the interest of the companies and to load it on the platform of the project 'Roadshow: No never give up ').

In the project 'Do not give up ever' can participate people with disabilities and unemployed, who have an age between 16 and 29 years.

All the activities are carried out in the mobile unit installed at the bus stop on Avenida de los Andenes-Gregorio Sánchez Romero, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm, on the days already indicated.

Registration to participate is done through the portal www.noterindasnunca.org or by calling 96 380 99 99. Similarly, anyone who attends and proves their disability will also be attended.

Participants, in addition to improving their skills and abilities, will receive merchandising products and participate in the draw for an IPhone 10.

The latest available data indicates that in Spain there are 1,840,700 people with disabilities, aged between 16 and 64, representing 5.9% of the population (data from ODISMET, Observatory on Disability and Labor Market of the ONCE Foundation).

According to this same source, the unemployment rate of people with disabilities at present (as of June 2018) is 28.6% (185,200 people), 9.1 points higher than that of the population without disabilities.
