To publicize and explain the details of the Law of Protection and Defense of Companion Animals, approved a few months ago unanimously by all the political groups in the Regional Assembly, is the objective of the act organized by the Partido Popular de Caravaca de the Cross, and that will be celebrated next Tuesday, July 10, at 8:30 p.m. in the Carrilero Museum square.
This law, pioneer by its characteristics, is a norm that contemplates many other measures, among them that the Autonomous Community elaborates a register of companion animals, the fight against the abandonment, the promotion of the adoption, the sterilization of the animals, its purchase, breeding and responsible sale, as well as the education of animals and the creation of recreational areas for animals, among others.
The law passed in the Chamber also includes a series of prohibitions such as sacrifice, mistreatment, abandonment, donation as a prize or advertising claim or use in shows, fights, popular festivals and activities that involve cruelty or abuse and may cause suffering.
The regional deputy Mónica Meroño, defender of the law in the Assembly by the Popular Group, along with regional deputy Víctor Martínez-Carrasco and members of the PP of Caravaca José Francisco García and Ana Belén Martínez will participate in the act.
The act, open and participatory, are invited associations and animal protectors, veterinarians, politicians of any kind and all neighbors and pet owners interested in this topic.
